Summary:
Leadership is crucial to individual and organizational success in today's challenging global environment. Leaders conceive and initiate strategies that create and sustain competitive differentiation and advantage. This course focuses on leadership as a process and emphasizes that managers can become leaders if they choose to do so. The basic premise of this course is that we know leaders by what they do. The course presents basic leadership concepts and the essentials that every effective leader practices. The course then examines core leadership behaviors and the results of applying them. Ground rules for job success in today's information age are evaluated. The final portion of the course addresses ethical considerations in leadership, and thoroughly explores the leader's role in creating, inspiring, and maintaining an ethical climate.
